Crocheting: Basic (C/S518) | Allegany College of Maryland

It all starts with a slip knot. This course will cover basic stitches, terminology, and pattern reading. We will apply the stitches we learn to a scarf with an optional second scarf or blanket pattern. This course is for students with no experience or those desiring a refresher.

 

Supply list:

  • Yarn: 2 Skeins of approx. 300 yd. Medium 4 Yarn – Recommended: 1 Skein of light colored yarn for learning new stitches; one skein of color of your choice for project
  • Hook: J (6 mm) or K (6.5 mm) – Recommended: Susan Bates hooks
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Stitch markers, safety pins, or bobby pins
