Stimulants (DHR526) | Allegany College of Maryland

Methamphetamine has been a problematic substance in the western United States for more than a decade. However, here in the eastern part of the country, it did not really present as much as a problem. That is no longer a reality. Many eastern, Mid-Atlantic States are now reporting significant increases in use, treatment, hospital incident, arrests, etc. Right along with this trend, the helping professions have seen an increase in amphetamine (Adderall, Ritalin), ecstasy, cocaine, and bath salts. This training is designed to increase a helping professional’s awareness of the bio-psychosocial effects of stimulants on the individual, the family and society.
