Hypochlorite Disinfection (VTE933) | Allegany College of Maryland

Hypochlorites – sodium and calcium – are the most common form of disinfection used in water treatment. This course focuses on the properties, use, and feed equipment when using hypochlorite for disinfection. Operators will be introduced to the uses and properties of hypochlorites, chemical handling including safety, regulatory requirements, and feed equipment. Various mathematics principles will be addressed throughout the workshop including changing percentage concentrations, dosage/feed rates, chlorine demand/dose, and CT calculations. Please note MCET does not offer refunds for no-shows. Students may drop a course up to seven days prior to the course run date for a full refund. Any student wishing to drop after the seven-day deadline will not receive a refund and must be referred to MCET for consideration.
